SHAWANO, WI- The case against Zachary Runion remains unresolved after a Feb. 4 hearing, with no plea offer yet from the Shawano-Menominee County District Attorney’s Office. Runion, who pleaded not guilty in December, faces multiple charges, including strangulation, aggravated battery, and false imprisonment. The charges stem from a violent Sept. 14 incident in Belle Plaine, where Runion allegedly attacked his aunt and uncle, leaving his uncle unconscious with severe injuries. A new pre-trial hearing is scheduled for April 30. If convicted, Runion faces up to 15 years in prison for the most serious charges.
