Clyde R. Strehlow, Jr., age 85, passed away on Saturday January 11, 2025, in Prescott, Wisconsin. Clyde was born on October 12, 1939, in the Town of Red Springs, Shawano County, son of the late Clyde W. and Mildred (Lechterman) Strelow, Sr. Clyde served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. On September 17, 1966, Clyde was united in marriage to Patricia Gmirek in South Milwaukee. The couple spent a wonderful 51 years together before Patricia’s passing in 2018. Clyde worked as a fire fighter for the City of Menasha for many years. In his free time, he loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. Clyde was a friendly, though somewhat reserved, man. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, and he was well liked by all who met him. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Leopolis.
Clyde is survived by his children, Dawn (Omar) Camara of Milwaukee and Mark (Martina) Strehlow of Prescott; grandchildren, Abdou, Trisha (spouse, Jacob), Omar, Jr., Mallory and Liam (partner, Anna); and brother, Thomas Strelow. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents, Clyde and Mildred; and siblings, Floyd Strelow, Gerald Strelow, Donald Strelow, Donna Richter and Robert Strelow.
A funeral service for Clyde will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday January 18, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Leopolis with Fr. Vincent officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
