Gary W. Graper, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of December 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary Warren Graper was born October 3, 1946, son to the late Ervin & Mavis (Lemke) Graper. He lived a full life of love, warmth, and devotion to those he held dear. Gary had a passion for classic cars and was especially fond of his 1964 Ford Galaxy, affectionately nicknamed his “Black B.” He worked for many years at Hillshire Farm until his well-earned retirement. Known for his love of good food, Gary relished a perfectly cooked steak from Mathew’s Supper Club in Clintonville and made a daily ritual of breakfast at local diners, where he enjoyed catching up with his “coffee clutch” friends. Above all, Gary adored his family, particularly his grandchildren. He shared a special bond with Brooke and Morgan, his granddaughters who lived nearby, and cherished every moment spent with them. Gary’s kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his four children: Kim Larson (special friend, Tim), Ken Graper (life partner, Barb Copsey), Keith (Sarah) Graper, & Kory (Crystal) Graper. His former wife, LaRayne Conradt; Gary was also a proud grandfather to Arika, Alexus, Amber (Jesse), Kiana, Brooke & Morgan; and a doting great-grandfather to Charleigh. Gary is further survived by his siblings, Diane (Howard) Froh; Terry Graper; & Ron (Candy) Graper. He leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
