James “Jim” F. Warren Jr. age 89, passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2024, in Appleton. Jim was born on December 7, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI to James and Sophia Warren. He graduated from Greendale High School and attended college at Marquette University. Jim worked at his father’s sporting goods store in Milwaukee and later at Laacke and Joys Sporting goods company heading their boat and camping divisions.

Jim married Judith Cornell in 1957, they lived in Greendale and had three Children: Cheryl Warren, James F. Warren III, and Eileen Warren Kirt. They were divorced in 1966.

Jim married Helen E. Koonz (from Gresham) in 1969 while they were both working in Milwaukee. He got his Real Estate broker’s license in 1971, then they bought and moved to Gresham on Helen Koonz’s family farm in 1975. Jim established two real estate companies in Shawano, Country Aire Realty and Warren Nett Realty and also had a Millcraft Home Building business. He and Helen developed a rental business owning some 50 homes and apartments around Shawano.

Jim took an active role in the City of Shawano in many organizations including the Shawano Club, Chamber of Commerce, Bid Board and worked with youths through Jr Achievement. He retired from the real estate/rental business in 2015. Jim was an avid sportsman and big game hunter. His passion for hunting and fishing took him around the US and the world including Alaska, Canada, and big game hunts in Zimbabwe, Africa. He remained an active hunter and fisherman until his death. Jim and Helen shared 55 years of marriage.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday December 23, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano.
