Alice Rose Eggert, age 96, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Bonduel. Alice was born in the Town of Belle Plaine on February 4, 1928, daughter of the late Adolph and Rose (Meisner) Jeske. Alice graduated from Shawano High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Vendor Eggert on October 20, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. Vendor preceded her in death in 2001. Alice was an avid gardener, she spent countless hours tending to her vegetables and flowers. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing. She cherished her family and loved each and every one of them with her whole heart. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Alice is survived by: her children, Don (Marilee) Eggert, Tom (Diane) Eggert, Julie (Dave) Baye, Nancy (Rev. Timothy) Shoup, John (Sue) Eggert, and Sally (Rev. James) Bender; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Beaty. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Vendor; a granddaughter, Hope; her parents; and siblings, Alvina, Edwin, Sophie, Walter, Margaret, Henry, Mark, Herbert, George, and Lester.
A funeral service for Alice will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Stony Hill at 11:00am on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with Pastor Steve Conradt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of the service. The burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church – Stony Hill.
