Allen “Butch” Julian Hokenstad Jr., age 57, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2024. Born in Shawano, on January 8, 1967, to the late Allen Hokenstad Sr. and Manda (Retzlaff) Hokenstad. Butch grew up working on the family farm in Gresham. His hard work ethic was engrained into him from those younger years. After graduating from high school, he still continued to farm until he transitioned into automotive repair. He worked at various automotive shops for many years. Butch united in marriage to Tiffany Baumann on October 20, 1990, and were together for many years. His patience and skill came in handy when he spent his time at the racetrack. He loved being able to race the stock cars and help out in the pits. When Butch wasn’t working, he loved being able to deer hunt, bass fish, and always had fun at the racetracks. Butch enjoyed playing pool, playing cards like cribbage and sheepshead, and shooting darts. Butch could always be found hanging out at D’s Corner Pocket and having a drink with his good friend, Derek Aiello. He was proud to have been a volunteer fire fighter and was an instructor for Hunter Safety and member of Pond Pounders. He was a member of the Shawano Fish & Game Club. Being outdoors was where he was able to find peace and being a handyman and jack of all trades. Butch was a selfless man that was always willing to help others. His devoted love not only extended to when he cared for his mother in her ailing health, but to his constant desire to spend time with his kids and grandkids. He was a man that stood for hard work, compassion, and will be dearly missed.
