James “Jim” O. Korth, age 70 of Marion, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.
James “Jim” Orlin Korth was born December 15, 1953 in Clintonville, WI, son to the late Orlin W. & Lucille M. (Lehman) Korth. He attended Marion High School where he played baseball under Coach Bartelt; and hit the winning RBI to secure the state championship in 1971. After graduation with the class of 1971, Jim moved out to Montana to work in the logging industry; he later enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1974, serving in the Sea-Bees. After an honorable discharge, Jim went back to logging for a brief amount of time, later working in Arizona as a taxi-driver. He eventually moved back to Marion and worked for Marion Body Works as a material handler until his retirement after 15 years. Lately, Jim attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Big Falls where he was always looking forward to spending time with his church family. He was active in the church’s Men’s Club, and was always willing to help the church. He followed the BABA Baseball program, always rooting for the Marion Meisters and helping with scoring during games. Jim was very dedicated to his AA friends and the meetings; you could count on him to be a listening ear and making certain the coffee was ready to go.
