Nancy J. Kriesel, age 68 of the Town of Grant, Shawano County, passed away on Thursday morning September 12, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton with her loving family by her side.

Nancy June Kriesel was born June 29th, 1956 in Tigerton, WI, daughter to the late Edwin and Esther (Westphal) Laatsch. She graduated from Tigerton High School with the class of ‘74, and later that same summer was united in marriage to Jeffery M. Kriesel. After their wedding, the young couple moved to California while Jeffrey served in the Navy; before moving back to Wisconsin. Over the years she worked as a waitress in Caroline, a cook for Marion schools, and then as a cashier at North Star Mohican Casino until her retirement in 2017. Nancy loved to craft; sewing and painting were some of her favorite pastimes, as well as growing flowers. She enjoyed baking, especially during Christmas time and she always carried a song in her heart, humming and singing wherever she went.  Nancy, along with her brothers and sisters, enjoyed reading and reciting poetry. As a couple, Nancy and Jeff would take yearly trips out west to Las Vegas and California. She will be remembered by her husband, children, and grandchildren for her endless love and support.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joyce Pingel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church, Town of Grant, Shawano Cty., with the Rev. Dean Suehring officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery following the service.

Visitation will take place on Monday at the church from 9 AM until the time of service.
