Ardella F. Weisnicht, age 88, of Shawano passed away on Saturday August 31st, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1935, in the Township of Angelica, daughter of the late Hilbert and Elsie (Sokja) Kroening. Ardella’s mother passed away when she was 18 months old, and she was raised by her Aunt Emma (Hoppe) Kuhn in Shawano. Nana stepped in as her mother, which was truly a blessing as she was nurtured and cared for. Ardella was raised on the farm where she attended Riverside School and later was confirmed and graduated from St. James. She graduated from Shawano High School, Class of 1953. She was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church and was active in the Choir and Stephens Ministry. She worked many years in production at the Shawano Evening Leader and later years in various manufacturing facilities. She was a dedicated employee and epitomized hard work and selfless service.
On December 27, 1958, she married Marvin Weisnicht in Shawano and together they raised 3 children- Jerry, Jeff & Steve. She became Marvin’s loyal supporter- the calm and patient partner who would center him while always being the loving wife throughout their married life. Beginning with Marv, and then her boys, she faithfully followed all their sporting events and rarely missed a game. Her grandchildren continued the family tradition of being present to cheer them on too. Being a “boy mom”, she undertook her role as unconditional supporter – unshakable and unending until her last breath. She was a selfless caretaker – as she spent many years taking care of her son Steve, who was her best friend. She also looked forward to watching her grandchildren and was always the first to offer “grandma’s babysitting services!” They all brought her so much joy and she was thrilled to finally have 2 granddaughters after having all the boys.
She was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Steve and Ardella had many conversations of the games and she always looked forward to attending the Packer games with Jeff. She was a kind, gentle soul, always putting everyone else first and had a great sense of humor . Ardella was blessed to have her family close – so, she was always well taken care of. She appreciated the special care she received from them all.
Ardella loved to travel with her many dear friends, which included Florida, Hawaii, Vegas, Casino bus trips, Cruises and Michigan to visit her son Jeff and grandson AJ. She was very social, whether it was going to church, playing cards or having lunch with friends- she loved being around everyone. She enjoyed being a part of: Red Hats, Singles group and of course dances…Her biggest love was Dancing! Polka Polka Polka. Wherever there was a dance you would always find Ardella on the dance floor. She enjoyed celebrating her birthday at the fair at the Polka stand listening to one of her favorites, Chad Przybylski.
The Angels most likely greeted her with concertinas playing her favorite songs as she joyfully danced her way to Heaven greeted by Marvin, Jerry and Nana. Ardella you will be terribly missed and never forgotten.
