Beverly Ann Garcia was born on December 28, 1932, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, daughter of Louis Giannunzio Sr. and Yola May (Anderson) Giannunzio. On December 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Garcia in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Beverly and Benjamin lived their early years in Madison, WI, where Beverly kept a lovely home for her husband and children. Beverly was very involved in supporting her husband and his role as Deacon Benjamin Garcia, along with her own duties within the Catholic Church throughout her life. Beverly sang with the Shawano Chapter of Sweet Adeline’s. In 1972, Ben and Beverly moved to the Bonduel area, where they owned and operated a dairy farm until selling it in 1976 to purchase the Chalet Restaurant in Shawano. In 1982, the couple moved to Beverly’s hometown of Iron Mountain, where Beverly worked at Rocconi Ace Hardware. Beverly was very involved with work and special events at Immaculate Conception Church.
Beverly was known for her kindness and never speaking ill of anyone. She had a reputation for baking the best pies, cookies and pastries and her green thumb for beautiful flower gardens. Beverly loved to embroider, color and enjoy nature at its very best. She hunted for raccoons with Ben while living in Black Earth and Bonduel. Yes, they ate raccoon, rabbits and squirrels which all tasted like chicken. Beverly loved to read books as a child and would run and hide to be alone with her books. She continued reading between 1-2 books a week until her death. Her grandmothers introduced her to American Movie Classics, great Italian cooking and encouraged her love of ice cream. Her mother and sisters loved to dance and forgot all their pains of rheumatoid arthritis as soon as the music began to play.
Beverly and Benjamin returned to Shawano, Wisconsin to be nearer to their children and grandchildren. Beverly worked for Ace Hardware and later worked with Shawano Social Services until she was 80, finally retiring in March of 2013.
Beverly was married for 61 years to Benjamin until his death in June 2013. She is survived by her six children, Daniel (Marge) Garcia of Texas, Howard (Colleen) Garcia of Vermont, Cheryl (David) Schmidt of Green Bay, Carlos (Liliana) Garcia of Greenville, Consuelo (Russ) Huebner of Shawano, and Maranita (Rodney) Gretzinger of Shawano; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great great granddaughters. Beverly is further survived by her sister, Yola Chapman; brother, Louis Giannunzio Jr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin Garcia; parents, Louis and Yola Giannunzio; and sister, Arlene Mielke.

Beverly’s family would like to thank the loving extended family (caregivers) and friends she made at Grancare Nursing Center in Green Bay. She loved everyone and they loved her back.
Beverly felt only love for her children and their families, a true gift and blessing each in their own way. Thank you to Unity Hospice for their care and support the last few weeks of her life. When asked if she was afraid she answered “I look forward to where I am going.” She loved her Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
