Glen L. Allen, age 85 of the Township of Maine, Outagamie County, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah.
Glen Leonard Allen was born May 8, 1939 in the Town of Maine, Outagamie County, son to the late Leonard & Buelah (Owen) Allen. He attended Shiocton High School; after which he traveled out West to Utah to work construction, mostly as a welder. After hitchhiking back to Green Bay, Glen was united in marriage to Evonne Ollman on February 23, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek. He started work at MCC, Inc., a concrete contractor in Appleton, as an equipment operator. Rarely missing a day of work, Glen’s work ethic was something to behold and was a trait that he passed along to his children and grandchildren. After an injury in the late 1990’s, Glen retired and found more time to work on his projects at home. He could fix anything and spent countless hours in his shop/man-cave finding things to work on. The couple traveled South for the winters in their camper to Arizona, Texas, & his favorite, Florida. They served as camp hosts at some national parks in Florida and enjoyed meeting new friends in their travels. He followed NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. Spending time outdoors in nature and hunting whitetail deer was always something Glen enjoyed. While he was a quiet person who kept to himself, Glen did enjoy spending time with family and close friends.
Glen is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Evonne
