CECIL, WI- The Bonduel Boys Golf Team won their own Division 3 Regional title by defeating Lena by four strokes.
Braden McVane of Lena tied for first place with a round of 78, but Bonduel golfers were not far behind with Jake Dreyer finishing tied for 3rd with a round of 79, Colin Margelofsky with an 84 and Jaxon Bogacz with an 85. Reed Luepke scored 87 and Colin Fisher 89 to round out the scoring for the Bears.
“Our kids hit a couple of late birdies that made a big difference,” Coach Dave LaBerge said. “We were not playing very well for the first nine, but they fought back in the final holes.”
Bonduel has had success this year with their 3rd straight conference title and also set a school record for best scoring round this year.
LaBerge says this group has what it takes to make a run towards State.
“Our scores match up really good and last year we missed state by two strokes so we want to make sure we take care of that this year.”
Gillett and Mishicot also advanced their teams. Sectionals will be on Tuesday at McCauslin Brook GC in Lakewood.
Gillett’s teams scores were Thomas Carmody 91, Mats Harden 93, Aydin Franti 94, Katelyn Sturm 104, Tyler Frank 107.
