TOWN OF LESSOR- An ATV accident resulted in the death of a 13-year-old girl in Shawano County Wednesday evening. At around 8:30 p.m., the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting the crash near Landstad Road and Two Creek Road. The caller reported that the young girl was unconscious and not breathing.
Emergency services, including multiple law enforcement officers and medical personnel, rushed to the scene, which was on private property. Upon arrival, they found CPR being administered to the girl. Navarino-Lessor EMS and NEW Ambulance teams arrived shortly after and requested the ThedaStar Helicopter for further medical assistance. Despite the extensive life-saving efforts, the girl succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was called in to assist with the investigation, as the incident involved an ATV. Preliminary findings confirmed that the victim was the sole occupant and driver of the ATV. A witness at the scene provided critical details to law enforcement about how the accident occurred. The victim’s parents, along with other involved parties, were cooperative with authorities.
The victim was a student in the Village of Bonduel. In response to the tragedy, the local School Resource Officer coordinated with schools in Bonduel to provide additional support and services for students and staff.
