Wayne was born June 12, 1933 to the late Arnold & Ella (Koll) Wedde at their home in Clintonville. He was baptized on July 2, 1933 and confirmed in his faith on March 30, 1947 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. At the age of 7 years old, he started accordion lessons and by the age of 16 had his own Polka band, “Accordion Wayne, ” which was later called “Wayne Wedde Orchestra.” He played for many weddings and other occasions and even made his own record called, “Just a Smile.” After graduation from Clintonville High School, he attended Superior State and Stevens Point Colleges. He was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Koskey on October 8, 1955. They moved to Shawano where he operated the “Shopper’s Guide” for seven years. Later, the couple moved to Clintonville and started his own publication, “Clintonville Shopper’s Guide,” which he owned and operated for 54 years. In 1980, Beverly passed away unexpectedly. On August 16, 1981, Wayne was united in marriage to Ginger A. Alto at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Wayne had many interests throughout his life including: golf, bowling, playing and listening to Polka music, astronomy, R/C airplanes, trap shooting, and ham radio (KD9GR). He enjoyed his time with the Porsche Club and driving his car around on beautiful days. He also served his community by being a member of the Clintonville Rotary Club. As a lifetime member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, he served on the Memorial Trust Fund, and was involved with the Shepherding Committee/Leaders. He was also a member of the Gideons.
