SHAWANO, WI- On the evening of October 12, 2023, at approximately 5:00 pm, officers received a call for assistance at Wal-Mart, where a vehicle fire had erupted. The situation was deemed potentially hazardous as the vehicle was parked close to the building, prompting the immediate evacuation of the Wal-Mart store as a safety precaution.

Responding swiftly to the emergency, the Shawano Area Rural Fire Department arrived on the scene. With their expertise and rapid response, they managed to gain control over the fire and successfully extinguished it, preventing further escalation of the situation.
