Larry died peacefully in his home on October 30, 2022. Larry was born in Bay View, WI on April 28, 1935. After graduating from Whitefish Bay High School, he entered Marquette University and received a Bachelor Degree in Personnel Administration. At 13 years old, he met the love of his life, Kathleen (Kathy), his next-door neighbor. Larry and Kathy married on June 21, 1958. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
“Family Evans” relocated to Shawano, WI in 1966 where they raised a family and grew permanent roots. Dad Evans put everything he had into their home on Humphrey Circle. Northwestern Mutual, Catholic Family Insurance, Wisconsin Finance and Alexander and Alexander were his professional homes. He took great pride in his work and was always very interested in the successes and careers (especially their office settings) of his children and grandchildren.
His professional passions spread much wider. He served on the Shawano School Board. Larry cherished his 30 years in Rotary and lifetime dedication to Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he lectured, sang and sat in the front row every Sunday.
Above all of this, Larry’s life was driven from his big heart, down the road of God, Faith and Family first. He was a die-hard Packer, Badger and Brewer fan and avidly followed the teams of his children and grandchildren. Larry or “Gerv” as he was nicknamed by many, also held a coveted position center-court, first row at the Shawano High School basketball games for decades.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Kathy; brother Gary (Cherie); brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Gerry Dibley and Ron and Karen Lundean; daughter Lynne (Tom) Kestly and their sons Jason (Becca) and Nick (Katie); son Michael (Chris) and sons Ryan (Jackie), Isaac (Maria), David and Benjamin; daughter Mary and son-in-law Kim White and their sons Derek and Alex; Christine (Bill) Cousineau and their children Megan, Alissa and Sam; Lisa (Hans) Myklebust and their children Nate and Anna. He is blessed with three great grandsons – Colt, Tommy and Ryder and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Sylvia and Gervais Evans and in-laws Edward and Zita Gmoser. His brothers Donny and Alan and many dear friends, also reached Heaven earlier.
