SHAWANO, WI- Crews were called out to a fire at the Shawano County Highway Department on Tuesday. Highway Commissioner Grant Bystol said one vehicle started on fire.

“We had an electrical system fire on a 2004 off-road dump truck,” Bystol said. He said nobody was injured, no other vehicles were damaged and their was no damage to any building. He says operations were also not impacted in anyway.  “We used it about a month ago and we were pulling it in for routine maintenance and something went wrong with the electrical system.”

Bystol said they tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher, but it required the help of the fire department. The dump truck is a loss. Bystol said they will be working on replacing the vehicle.
