SHAWANO, WI- Downtown Shawano is about to get a little more exciting today. The new and improved Stock Market is open for business.
After a short closing to renovate and add on to their current downtown facility, the Stock Market is opening with more product and more space.
Monday is the ribbon cutting and the reopening of the store.
Owners Sisters Chelsea Gilling and Abigael Wallrich say the business has grown tremendously since they purchased the former Anew Tea Emporium four years ago.
“We are growing and growing and we need more room.”

That’s when Gilling and Wallrich decided to purchase the building next door, the former Warren Nett building that is attached to the Stock Market, and expand. After more than two months of hard work, the sister’s dreams are starting to become a reality.
“It started as a tea shop and we added some things, but we always envisioned it becoming a World Market kind of store,” Gilling said.
During the struggle of COVID, the girls were able to keep business going strong, offering new ways to reach their customers and and now seeing some rewards.
“Our shipping, even shipping out of the area has grown huge,” Wallrich said. “We have a little bit of everything, and because of that, our customer base has grown and we are bursting at the seems.”
Because of that, they needed more room.
Abby Wallrich Explains Why They Decided To Expand
The sister’s hard work and dedication through tough times was worth the battle, but Chelsea and Abby do not take all the credit. “We have an amazing staff, the best group of girls around and this would not be possible without the support of our customers.”
Some of the changes include another entrance and more product. “Costumers can enjoy a back or side entrance, another register and some more space for great products,” Gilling said.
Even with Monday’s ribbon cutting, the girls are not done yet. This summer they are opening the other portion of their newly purchased building and opening “Fully Stocked” a wine and liquor lounge.
“Wine and liquor is really the growth of our business, so it was really a natural extension of that,” Gilling said. “It is going to be something that you never seen, and it is going to be Shawano’s date night destination with a little bit of a dress code.”
Gilling said it will be a great fit for Shawano because there are not a lot of places where you can go really dressed up.
“You can come with a group, you can come with a date, or you can come by yourself and just chill,” Wallrich said.
If the first four years of growth are any indication of what these sisters and business owners are able to achieve, even more could come down the road, and the girls agree, they are not done yet.
“We have a lot more business ideas and a lot more to come.”
