MANAWA, WI – The long-running Manawa Mid-Western Rodeo has been canceled for 2020.
Organizers were scheduled to make a decision by June 1, but pulled the plug on Tuesday.
The Rodeo has been in Manawa since 1959, but organizers say COVID-19 concerns forced their decision.
The Manawa Rodeo is a fundraiser for the Manawa Lions Club, but club leaders support the decision.
Rodeo organizers say they needed to give vendors an answer and the executive committee made their vote.
They also said crowd size concerns and social distancing regulations played a factor in the decision.
COVID-19 has also canceled other Rodeos in Wisconsin and Michigan.
This years Manawa Rodeo parade has also been canceled.
The 2021 Rodeo is scheduled for June 1-3 with the parade on Saturday, July 3.
