Janice “Jan” M. Erdmann, age 73 of the Town of Grant, Shawano County passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Shawano at Evergreen.
Janice was born on June 4, 1946 in Appleton as the daughter of the late William and Leona (Henges) Nemecek. She graduated from Appleton West High School and worked for Consolidated Construction in Appleton. Following a divorce from her first husband, Janice moved with her family to a cabin near Weasel Dam Road; just outside of Caroline. On July 29, 2000 she was united in marriage to Darryl Erdmann at Zion Lutheran Church in Caroline. Janice then worked as a cook and bartender for the Caroline Legion and later at the Corral in Leopolis. She loved spending her time with friends and family; especially when it included her grandchildren. Janice liked working on crossword puzzles, watching cooking shows and cooking for her family at home, and had a soft spot for roses and daisies.
Survivors include: Her Husband: Darryl.
A Son: Phil (Nicole Winkers) Kalwitz.
A Step-Son: Todd (Bonnie Hauman) Erdmann.
Granddaughters: Kendra & Leandra Kalwitz.
A Sister: Maggie (Tom) Bootz.
Brothers: Bob (Bonnie) Nemecek & Ken (Pat) Nemecek.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 2 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Caroline with Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery also in Caroline. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of the service. Janice’s family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice and Evergreen for the wonderful care she received.
