Before the Shawano girls concluded their home season with a victory over Green Bay East, the Hawks honored their seniors.
Brandi Gueths and Hannah Wendorff were the only two on this year’s squad but they were both were an essential part of the team throughout the season.
Gueths will be attending UW-Madison where she plans to major in Kinesiology. She’s already thinking about attending grad school for her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Gueths has been involved in the program since a young age.
“It has given me many valuable friendships and memories over the years to last a lifetime,” Gueths said.
Her favorite memory came from her sophomore year when the Hawks scored 8 points in the last 30 seconds to beat Mosinee by two and advance to the regional championship game.
Wendorff will be attending UW-Oshkosh, she is undecided on a major.
“I have made many friends and learned many things over the years,” she said. “Basketball has taught me to work hard, be a leader and also show competitiveness.
Wendorff’s favorite memory was beating New London twice this season. The Hawks had not beaten New London since 2002.
