Florence Jones, age 74, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, in Shawano. Born in Shawano on August 24, 1942, daughter of the late Reinhart “Pete” and Lucy (Stewart) Schenk.  Florence graduated from Shawano High School and on October 13, 1962 was united in marriage to Wesley Jones in Shawano.  Wesley preceded her in death on February 7, 1990.  Florence was an active and faithful member of River Valley Church in Shawano where she served on numerous committees over the years.  She spent countless hours babysitting for friends and relatives and was always willing to help a friend in need. Florence’s door was always open and she was more than willing to lend an ear to family and friends.  She was a special person and a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Florence is survived by: two sons, Jay (Pamela) Jones and James (Misty) Jones both of Shawano; nine grandchildren, Anna Jones, Kyle Jones, Abigail Jones, Riley Jones, Emma Jones, Lindsey (Michael) Redmann, Alison (Benjamin) Sperberg, Jacob (special friend Micheala) Jones, and Mallory Jones; one great-grandchild on the way; a sister Anna (William) Schutt of Shawano; sisters-in-law, Elaine Schenk, Shirley Timm, Sharon Anderson, and Eva Wudtke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wesley; her parents; her brother, Arthur; and a sister, Dawn Marie in infancy.

A funeral service for Florence will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at River Valley Church in Shawano with Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
