Gloria Jean Saurer, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 7, 2025, in Shawano, WI to go to be with our Dad. She was born April 29, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, the oldest of five children to Eugene and Helen Gamache. She married the love of her life, Jerry Saurer, on June 22, 1957.
She is survived by her three children (all her favorites) Mark (Kathi) Saurer, Dan (Chris) Saurer, and Kathy (Rick) Russell; two sisters, Suzanne Mangione, and Carolyn (Brian) Dulka. Jerry and Gloria enjoyed their six grandchildren; Cory, Sara, Brad, Katelyn, Anna, and Ellen; along with six great-grandchildren; also survived by a large family of sisters-in-law (Sharon and Helen Gamache), brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mom and Dad lived in the Milwaukee area until 1977 and then moved to Cecil, WI to enjoy the country life. They enjoyed camping, summer and winter activities, their farm life, sneaking off to the casino, and mostly being with their family and friends. Our Dad has been waiting for mom in heaven for almost 19 years; now mom will have a grand reunion with him, along with her mom and dad, and her two brothers, James and Kenneth, along with her son Matthew, and many friends, family, and pets.
A celebration of life for our Mom will be on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11:00am-2:00pm at Peace United Church of Christ on 208 E. Maurer Street, Shawano, WI. Hope you all can come and enjoy being together to honor our mom, along with food and great stories to tell.
