The Bonduel Bears softball team enters the 2025 season with a fresh perspective and a new voice at the helm. Mark Margolofsky takes over as head coach, bringing energy and experience from his time as an assistant coach with the Bonduel baseball program, which made a state appearance last season. Now, he’s focused on guiding a Bears softball team looking to rebuild and reestablish itself in conference play.
Bonduel returns several key contributors from last year’s squad, led by standout Tatum Sporski. The junior earned all-conference honors after batting .420 and will once again be a cornerstone of the Bears’ offense. Senior catcher Maddie Sokolsky also returns following a strong season behind the plate, giving the team a veteran presence and leadership on defense.
While the Bears lost three of their top four hitters to graduation, Coach Margolofsky sees this season as a chance for new talent to emerge. Only three players return with more than 50 at-bats and a batting average over .250, including junior infielder Allison Zernicke, who hit .268 last spring. That means opportunity knocks for younger and less experienced players to make their mark.
With a mix of veteran leadership and open competition for key roles, the Bears are aiming to grow quickly and stay competitive. If Margolofsky’s past coaching experience is any indication, Bonduel could be a dangerous team come playoff time.
