The Tigerton Tigers softball team isn’t just chasing wins this spring—they’re chasing a repeat. After capturing the conference crown a year ago, Tigerton returns a core of talented players and brings in a new voice at the helm, as longtime Marion coach Jenny Korth takes over the program.
Korth steps into a promising situation with a strong returning lineup led by junior standout Lily Welch. A versatile catcher and third baseman, Welch was named First Team All-Conference last season after batting an impressive .432.
In the circle, the Tigers will lean on sophomore Danica Tiller, who posted a 10-8 record with 120 strikeouts last year—good enough for a First Team All-Conference nod of her own. Tiller’s development could be a major key to Tigerton’s success.
Sophomore Haley Erdman adds depth to the infield after earning first team honors as a freshman, while seniors Angel Welch and Sienna Breaker bring leadership and experience as returning second team all-conference players.
Korth is also excited about a group of dedicated freshmen who may see the field early. With a smaller conference lineup this year, Tigerton has a clear path to another title—but they know it will take hard work and chemistry to get there.
