Sheriff’s deputies were busy overnight with multiple incidents. Around 12:45 a.m., 42-year-old man was arrested for bail jumping, facing four open felony cases.
Later in Wittenberg, deputies responded to a trespassing call involving an 81-year-old man . The case was closed without arrest.
Authorities also handled several warrants throughout the day, including one in Mattoon, where a man was taken into custody for felony retail theft, following a tip from Wausau police.
Animal-related calls were frequent—deputies were dispatched to handle a loose cow near Shiocton, and later responded to a dog bite incident involving a woman taken to the ER in Shawano.
Other notable reports include a reckless driver nearly hitting road workers in Gresham and a call for help in Shawano to turn off an oven left on during a family dispute.
Clintonville authorities responded to a variety of calls on Tuesday, starting just before 1 a.m. with an agency assist on East Green Bay Street in Shawano. Early morning incidents included a motor vehicle crash on Highway 22 and multiple ambulance calls, notably on 7th Street and later on Garfield Avenue and 9th Street.
Officers were visible around local schools, conducting extra patrols and presentations on West Green Tree Road. Throughout the day, police responded to several traffic stops, a 911 misdial, and a reported hit-and-run on South Main Street around 5:45 p.m.
Evening incidents included reports of suspicious activity on West Street, intoxication on Robert Street, and a domestic disturbance on West Morning Glory Drive. The day wrapped with a late-night welfare check on 10th Street, just before 10:30 p.m.
The Shawano Police Department responded to a range of incidents, starting just after midnight.
Around 12:20 a.m., officers cited two individuals for violating park rules at Sturgeon Park. The situation escalated with reports of suspicious vehicles circling the area.
Just minutes later, officers handled a disturbance on South Weed Street. Multiple units responded after a RapidSOS alert led them to a residence, though details remain under investigation.
In the morning, officers were dispatched to a reported water main break near the high school and dialysis center on South Lincoln Street.
At SAM25 Shelter, staff reported suspected drug use in Room 6. Officers responded and cleared the scene by 10:35 a.m.
Meals on Wheels requested two welfare checks—one at Park Street Apartments and another on Pine Ridge Court—after clients failed to answer doors or phones. Police made contact and ensured residents were safe.
A suspicious woman knocking on windows at Shawano High School drew concern, but she appeared to leave in a black GMC Terrain before officers arrived.
Other notable calls included a reckless motorcycle rider near East 5th and Hamlin Streets, a suspicious person entering a house listed for sale, and a lockout call at ThedaCare Medical Center.
Police also assisted with an emotional domestic escort, responded to a 911 call with no voice contact, and followed up on an activated security alarm at Senzig’s Furniture.
