Christine D. Brehm, age 84 of the Town of Grant, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at her home.
Christine “Chris” Dewella Brehm was born on December 10, 1940 in Janesville, WI, the youngest daughter of ten children born to the late Herbert & Helen (Fischer) Hanke. She grew up in the Janesville area and later married Donald Frederic Brehm on October 24, 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, also in Janesville. The couple began their married life in Menomonee Falls and Hubertus area. In June of 1970, they moved to a farm South of Marion, WI where they raised three sons and worked raising beef cattle. Chris had different jobs over the years including working at the J.C. Penny Outlet, Zimmels Bakery, and the Maple Lane Health Care Facility in Shawano. In 1985, they moved into the city of Marion where she enjoyed her deck, flower beds, and large garden. She was a loyal member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Grant. Chris and Don loved to travel, hosted many great pig roasts, and family parties. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids at Christmas and birthdays. Later in life, she lived with her sons and grandchildren, enjoying the country life, pony cart rides around the block, watching her birds, taking Oakly and Shilo for walks, and of course, shopping!
