
Yvonne G. Polzin, age 87, of Shawano, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025, at Good Shepherd Health Services in Seymour. Yvonne was born May 23, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Alma (Born) Busch. She grew up on a family farm in Pulcifer and attended Bonduel High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. Following high school, Yvonne began her lifelong career at Midwest Breeders.
On October 18, 1958, Yvonne was united in marriage to Maynard Polzin at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pulcifer. Following their marriage the couple lived in Shawano. After fifty years of hard work, she happily retired. Yvonne and Maynard loved going on bus trips, traveling, and dancing to polka music. Her husband Maynard preceded her in death on June 16, 2022. Yvonne was an avid volunteer and enjoyed serving her community. She helped at the fair, races, Lutheran Thrift Store, and elections. Yvonne enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, reading, and going to auctions. Yvonne was a good and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Maynard and Yvonne were members of the “Breakfast Club” which met every Monday morning.
Survivors include her children, Lori (Peter) Astrach of Shawano, Cathy (Gary) Mork of Angelica, and Gregory (Shelly) Polzin of Embarrass; her grandson, Nathan Mork; special grandson, Andre Lampinen; brothers, Vernon (Judi) Busch and Gary (Judy) Busch; and brother-in-law, Roger (Genevieve) Polzin. Yvonne is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill (Erika) Busch, and Bruce Busch.
A funeral service for Yvonne G. Polzin will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Andrew Zobel will officiate. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will begin at the church on Friday at 9:00 am and continue until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials in Yvonne’s name to the Good Shepherd Health Services Transportation Fund.
