APPLETON, WI- A Little Chute mother convicted in the fentanyl overdose death of her 2-year-old daughter was sentenced Monday to nine years in prison.
Brooke Seal, 29, pleaded no contest to child neglect resulting in death and possession of an illegal article. Another drug charge was dismissed.
Seal was arrested after toxicology reports confirmed her daughter, Rosalie Garcia, died from fentanyl poisoning in January 2024. Investigators found nearly 1,500 fentanyl pills in a backpack inside their home.
Seal will serve nine years in prison, followed by eight years of supervision, with credit for 418 days served.
