WAUPACA, WI- A 66-year-old Appleton man was sentenced Monday to 21 years in prison for sexually assaulting multiple children at a Waupaca County campground, with incidents dating back to 2017.
Richard Klimek was convicted of child enticement and repeated sexual assault of the same child. In addition to his prison sentence, he was placed on the sex offender registry for life and will serve seven years of extended supervision, according to court records.
Authorities said Klimek, who had a permanent site at Farmer Gene’s Campground in the town of Dupont, assaulted several children, including a 12-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old girl. Three additional victims, now adults, reported being abused by Klimek as children at both his Appleton home and the campground.
