Kenneth H. Burmeister, age 82, Town of Richmond, Shawano, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home. Ken was born August 18, 1942, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Edward and Anna (Schwartz) Burmeister. Ken attended school in Milwaukee. Following school, he cared for his ailing mother. He lived in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, for many years and later moved to Shawano in 2012. He was united in marriage to Sandra Babino. Their marriage blessed them with two children, Kenneth and Bryan Burmeister, and three step-daughters, Shelly, Lisa, and Tammy. Ken’s hobbies included: fishing, bird watching, mowing the grass, and in his
younger years, caring for his horse Bonita. He was very devoted to his grandchildren and loved his dogs. Ken had a strong Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth Burmeister of Shawano and Bryan Burmeister of Darlington, WI; his three step-daughters, Shelly, Lisa, and Tammy; nine grandchildren, Tamra, Samantha, Jacob, Savanna, Cody, Matt, Cari, Megan, and Alexander; and nine great-grandchildren, Trenton, Jackson, Abbygaile, Harlynn, McKenlie, MaeLenna, Letty, Hayden, and Colten. Ken is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Benjamin, Donald, Leonard, Harold, and Edward Burmeister.
A memorial service for Kenneth H. Burmeister will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Service in Shawano. Father Edward Looney will officiate. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 pm and continue until the time of service.
