Audrey Ardis Buss – Braun, age 87, passed away on March 9, 2025 at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano, WI.
Audrey was born November 7, 1937 in Tigerton, WI. She was the daughter of the late Arthur “Rusty” and Ettie (Johnson) Damrau. She was a resident of the Town of Grant, Shawano County, WI for much of her life. On September 5, 1959, she was united with Lee P. Buss in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Grant. The couple made their home on a farm in the Town of Grant, where she and Lee raised their 3 boys. Their business pursuits included dairy/beef farming and network marketing. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Caroline serving on the Ladies Aid and in the choir. She was also involved with the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She was also a long-time member of the Tigerton FFA Alumni. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, deer hunting, and fishing, especially at The Beacons of Minocqua.
In 1995, she lost the love of her life and moved to her new home on the pond in Marion, WI. However, during that transition she found comfort in these words, “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. She continued the network marketing business she and Lee built. She also became involved with the Marion Library, Marion Lions and served on the Marion City Council. In 2006, she married Dale Braun. Unfortunately, in 2009, she suffered a stroke which eventually led to her becoming a long-term resident at Evergreen Health Services.
Audrey is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Lon (Debbie) Buss, Leesburg, FL; Lorne (Patti), Tigerton, WI; Debbie Buss (Dean Schaefer), Manitowoc, WI; nine grandchildren, Marie (Ryan) Crotty; Melissa (Robby) Bethea; Ashley Buss; Amber (Casey) Staszak; Brent (Amanda) Buss; Lindsey (Tyler) Schulke; Chris (Missi) Rosenow; Eric Rosenow; Kyle Rosenow and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie (Lee) Miller, as well as her niece and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Lee Buss; son, Larry Buss; sister, Mary Ann Sunita, and Dale Braun.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Grant, west of Caroline on County M. Pastor Dean Suehring will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9am until the time of service.
