The first ever WIAA Girls Regional Wrestling Tournaments took place on Friday with the top four place winners in each bracket moving on to Sectionals this Friday.

Shawano sends 9 to Sectionals
Bosetski Pins Down First Place in 100-Pound Bracket; Moede Joins Her atop the podium.
Shawano Community’s Zennah Bosetski captured the 100-pound title, defeating Tomahawk’s Abbie Rosenmeyer in the championship match with a fall at 5:26. Bosetski, a freshman, showed poise beyond her years, securing the tournament win against a tough field.
Shawano Community’s Jenna Moede captured first place in the 114-pound division, pinning Wausau West’s Lena Volmer in the finals at 3:57. Moede, a junior, displayed impressive control throughout the match, sealing her victory with a decisive fall.
In the 126-pound division, Hannah Huza of Hortonville continued her outstanding season, pinning Wausau West’s Carmen Ghidorzi in just 1:06 to secure the title.
Antigo’s Olivia Hofrichter secured first place in the 145-pound class with a dominant pin over Waupaca’s Caylin Johnson at 1:46.
Meanwhile, New London’s Hailie Krueger continued her undefeated season (43-0), making quick work of Wausau West’s Lana Borchardt with a 1:45 pin in the 152-pound final.
At 185 pounds, Brooke Huffman of Wittenberg-Birnamwood remained undefeated (27-0) with a 39-second pin over Tomahawk’s Kami Gabrich.
Finally, in the 235-pound division, Keela Deering of Clintonville took home the top prize with a 1:09 fall over Shawano Community’s Lily Tomas.

PESHTIGO REGIONAL
Freedom, Bay Port, and Bonduel emerged as dominant teams in the tournament, showcasing their strength across multiple weight classes.
Freedom had a strong showing with Katherine Cook securing first place at 100 pounds and Lily Baker dominating the 107-pound bracket. Stella Pettitt also brought home the title at 132 pounds, adding to the team’s impressive performance.
Bay Port made a significant impact with Anna Behling claiming the 120-pound championship and Olivia Konshak taking the top spot at 185 pounds. Additionally, the team had multiple top finishers, including Dakotah Athey (114 pounds, 2nd place) and Autumn King (235 pounds, 1st place), proving their depth across weight classes.
Bonduel also had a remarkable tournament, highlighted by Madalyn Sokolski’s victory at 152 pounds and Addisen Olson’s first-place finish at 126 pounds. Alisha Berg added to the team’s success with a win at 165 pounds, demonstrating Bonduel’s strong presence throughout the competition.
