Ronald J. “Ron” Stupecky, age 88 of Shawano, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at ThedaCare in Shawano. Ron was born November 22, 1936, in Manitowoc, a son of the late Julius and Thelma (Benthein) Stupecky. Ron attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc graduating with the Class of 1955. Following high school, he attended Lakeland College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Ron later moved to Shawano where he began his 32-year teaching career at Lincoln Elementary and later retired in 1994. In December of 1957 Ron married the former Audrey Remaker, his high school sweetheart and has shared 67 years with her. The couple enjoyed going on numerous bus tours to Branson, MO, and trips to the casino together. Above all, they enjoyed supporting their grandchildren by attending countless athletic
activities. Even as their grandchildren grew older, they attended games and continued to cheer on various Shawano teams. The couples support aided them in receiving the “Fan of the Year” award from the athletic booster club.
Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed the great outdoors hunting and fishing. He was also a great gardener. He spent many hours in his backyard growing amazing vegetables. Ron also had a creative eye and hand-crafted unique metal sculptures that he sold around town and at many area craft fairs. He had a big heart, donating numerous pieces to organizations to help the community. Later in life, Ron took up reading and enjoyed mystery novels.
