
David A. Eckardt, age 55 of the Town of Morris, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Cloverleaf Terrace, Birnamwood.
David Andrew Eckardt was born February 27, 1969 in Tigerton, son to the late Bernard A. & Gladys A. (Schmidt) Eckardt. He was baptized, took first communion, and was confirmed all at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton, where he was still a member. In school, David enjoyed vocational agriculture, industrial arts, and woodworking; later graduating from Tigerton High School with the class of 1988. He was also active with the F.F.A. his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He later worked for the shipping yards in Manitowoc for a short time. He started working at Glover’s Mfg., Wittenberg as a welder/fabricator for many years, until his health started to decline. In his spare time, David liked to rebuild car engines, shoot pool, and play video games. Spending time outdoors was something he always tried to make time for; whether it was deer hunting or fishing during the summer or winter. David lived by the motto: “Good things come to those who work for them.”
David is survived by his siblings: Linda (Bill) Robertson, Tigerton; Roger (Carleen) Eckardt, Tigerton; Leonard Eckardt, Tigerton; Karen (John) Uttech, Merrill; Brian Eckardt, Tigerton; Gary Eckardt, Tigerton, & Paul (Missy Radies) Eckardt, Tigerton
& Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant siblings, Mary & Joseph; brother-in-law, Frederick Schreiber; & his sister-in-law, Gail Eckardt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Tigerton, with Fr. Matthew Settle officiating. Interment will take place following the service at the Town of Morris Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 5 – 7 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Tigerton, and again on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Tigerton, is assisting the Eckardt family with arrangements.
