Irma G. Suehring, age 101 formerly of the Town of Pella, Shawano County passed away Monday January 13, 2025 at The Cottages in Shawano.
Irma Germaine Behling was born on May 21, 1923 in Caroline as the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Jahnke) Behling. She graduated from Marion High School in 1941 and was united in marriage to Arthur Suehring on May 22, 1943 in the Town of Grant at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Town of Pella for many years where they raised their children and became members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Irma enjoyed working in her garden and canning the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed watching the Brewers and was famously known at church for her German potato salad. Irma always maintained a strong faith in her Lord and was always worrying about and caring for her family and friends. She thrived for family gatherings and was known by her great-grandchildren as “Farm Grandma” which always put a smile on her face.
Survivors include: Her Children: Phylis Suehring, Dick Suehring, Dan (Tracey) Suehring, and Sandy (friend Cara Pahl) Suehring.
Daughter-in-law: Jackie Suehring.
Grandchildren: Tina (Alonzo) Kelly, Crystal (Kevin) Belunes, Ashley (Zack) Carroll, David (Nicole) Suehring, Matt (Nicole) Suehring, Enrique Pahl, Travis (Dani) Ernst, Shane (Lindsay) Norder, Shannon (Mandy Hill) Norder, Matt Harper, and Kevin (Renee) Harper.
Great-Grandchildren: Trinity, Mondes, Jorel, Mason, Branson, Jude, Hugh, Leo, Hannah, Elizabeth, Ellie, Finn, Noah, Ella, Trayton, Axton, Shaylin, Marley, and Mayzie.
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends Jerry and Mina Lindow.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Martha Behling, husband Arthur, son Mike Suehring, daughter-in-law Lori Harper, brother Leroy (Lucille) Behling, and sisters Ruth (John) Braatz, Lorraine (Fritz) Ankerson, and Dorothy Behling.
Irma’s funeral service will be held Saturday January 18, 2025 at 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, W11131 County Rd M, Marion, WI 54950 (Town of Pella, Shawano County) with Rev. Timothy Lofgren officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of the service. Her family would like to thank all of her wonderful caregivers at The Cottages, Heartland Hospice, and also Rev. Lofgren for all of their help and comfort. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established by Irma’s family. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family.
