Gerald “Jerry” Louis Schroeder, 85 of Clintonville, passed away peacefully at Trinity Terrace, New London Monday December 9th , 2024 surrounded by family.
Jerry was born on August 24th, 1939 in Little Wolf, WI to the late Milton and Margaret (Elser) Schroeder. On July 8th, 1961 he was united in marriage to Janice A. Peterson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bear Creek; they celebrated almost 61 years together. Jerry had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a long-time member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. Jerry and Janice built their home just outside of Clintonville, WI where they raised their family. Jerry started his working career at Clintonville Motors in 1957 shortly after high school and worked his way up to part owner of the business. Jerry was a well-respected Clintonville businessman with many returning customers over his years of service. Jerry was also an avid outdoorsman that spent many days fishing and hunting with family and friends. His favorite place to spend time was at his cabin near Bowler, WI. Though his physical abilities faded over the last years of his life, his ability to recall details from decades ago was uncanny. Jerry was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Jerry is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Mike) Johnson, Hortonville; Brenda (Scott) Dailey, New London; his grandchildren: Jared (Rita) Johnson; Jace Johnson (Marry Hoffmann); Torrie Dailey; Kelsie Dailey (Ryan); his brother: Ted (Mary Lou) Schroeder, sisters Ruth (Herb) Stefanic, Margie (Joe) Donahue, sister-in-law Judy Schroeder, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice and his son Brian S. Schroeder, siblings: Marvin and Melvin (infant).
Jerry’s memorial service will be held Monday, December 16th 2024 at 12 PM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Jason Zobel officiating. Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Visitation will be held Monday at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service. Special thanks to the Moments Hospice Team and the staff of Trinity Terrace, especially Rebbeca Schertz and Dr. Timothy Houlihan for assisting us with Dad’s comfort and care.
