SHAWANO, WI – A female suspect is in custody after an attempted robbery early Wednesday morning at Kwik Trip on 1241 E. Green Bay St.
At 2:28 a.m. on October 23, officers from the Shawano Police Department, with assistance from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a report of a robbery in progress. Kwik Trip employees had detained a woman disguised while attempting to take money from the store’s cash register.
Shawano County deputies arrived first, handcuffing the suspect, followed by Shawano Police officers, who conducted an investigation. The suspect’s vehicle, found in the parking lot, had been modified to conceal identifying characteristics and was collected as evidence.
The Shawano Police Department thanked the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office and a citizen who helped in apprehending the suspect. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The suspect faces one count of attempted robbery with threat of force.
