Joyce C. Zarling, age 81 of Shawano, formerly of Clintonville passed away Thursday afternoon October 3, 2024 at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano.
Joyce Carol Ashauer was born on February 26, 1943 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Carl and Evelyn (Korb) Ashauer. As a young woman Joyce began working for Hansen Glove Factory in Clintonville and was united in marriage to August Zarling on September 25, 1965. In November of 1980 Joyce took a job as a cook for Jerry & Pat’s Restaurant in Clintonville; serving delicious meals to area residents until her retirement in November of 2008. Joyce had faith in her Lord and was a regular member at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where she also served on the C.L.C.W. and taught Sunday School over the years. Aside from her cooking abilities she was an excellent mother, great at sewing, and enjoyed her Wednesday nights shooting pool for Jim’s Bar. She always looked forward to time spent with family and will be remembered for her thoughtfulness.

Her Daughters: Susan Waegli and Bonnie (Dan) Pagel.
Son: Kevin (Karen) Zarling.
Grandchildren: Jessica (Mike) Grunewald, Nathan & Samantha Pagel, and Megan & Logan Zarling.
Great-Grandchildren: Jameson & Amelia Grunewald.
Brother: Leroy Ashauer.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Matthew Pagel, a sister Gladys (Frank) Dingledine, and a sister-in-law Delores Ashauer.
Joyce’s funeral service will be held Wednesday October 9, 2024 at 11am at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the service. Joyce’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Evergreen in Shawano as well as Nickiann from Heartland Hospice for all of their kindness and assistance.
