Brian Earl Johnson, age 64, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday September 15, 2024, at his home. Brian was born on October 20, 1959, in Green Bay to the late Reuban and Geraldine (Cornell) Johnson. He had a passion for music, took pride in being able to play any instrument and was proud to be able to play lead guitar, drums and even the French horn. Brian was in two bands Deuce Coupe for 13 years and Morgan Creek for three years. In 1985, he met the love of his life and his biggest fan, Kristine Mallory and the rest of 40 years is history. On October 7, 2017, Brian was united in marriage to Kristine at Presbyterian Church in Shawano. He was willing to help his friends when they were down on their luck, a practical joker, but everything was done out of love and compassion. Brian took on the responsibility of six children and loved them as his own. He enjoyed sitting around a campfire looking out at the lake finding his peace.
Brian is survived by his wife, Kristine; children, Jeremy (Tiffany) Mallory, Katie (James) Edwards, Michael (Christine) Schimmel, Andrew (Rebecca) Schimmel, Meghann Heindl and Dakota Schimmel; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Randall Johnson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Reuban and Geraldine; granddaughter, August Schimmel; sister-in-law, Lisa Johnson; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Kay Mallory.
A memorial service for Brian will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Richard Menning officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm then again on Wednesday from noon until the time of service.
