Dennis H. Mielke, age 74 of the Town of Grant, Shawano County went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the St. Joseph Residence in New London.

Dennis Hugo Mielke was born on November 21, 1949 in Clintonville as the son of the late Hugo and Meta (Watters) Mielke. He lived his entire life on the Hugo Mielke family farmstead just outside of Marion, was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion, and graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1967. While in high school Dennis was active with FFA and enjoyed Luther League. Right after high school Dennis worked for a short time at the feed mill in Marion while he also helped on the family farm. Dennis was united in marriage to Robin Selle on June 26, 1982 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion. As a member of St. John’s Dennis enjoyed ushering and helped out with other activities in his earlier years. He proudly took over farming operations his family’s Mielke Way Farms in 1978 with his brothers Hugo Jr. and Kenneth when his parents retired and eventually passed it on to his son Nick. Like most dedicated hardworking farmers, Dennis never really retired from farming. Even when he could no longer physically help, he was always there with his knowledge to assist his son and help where he could. Farming was his way of life. He loved driving his International tractors and skid steer. While working the fields with Nick they would always wave as they passed each other. He loved a good laugh and a cold beer. Dennis also collected toy tractors, enjoyed family reunions and attending machinery, playing sheephead, and bowling. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world and he was always there for them when needed.

His Children: Rachael (Clifford Jr.) Kaquatosh, Ashley (Dale) Maass, Sarah (Matt) Jensen, and Nick Mielke.
Grandchildren: Gordon and Lucas Kaquatosh, Allison, Wyatt, and Kendra Maass, and Natalie, Mallory, Lacey, Jared, and Hailey Jensen.
The Mother of his Children: Robin Selle.
Sister: Karen (Mark) Moderson, Sr.
Brother: Donald Mielke.
Also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Hugo Sr. and Meta, his Father-in-law Roger Selle, siblings Hugo Jr. Mielke, Kenneth Mielke, and infant siblings Danny & Carol Mielke, and his sister-in-law Shirley Mielke.

A Funeral Service for Dennis will be held Wednesday August 28, 2024 at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion with Rev. Lois Graper officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the service.
