SHAWANO, WI- With the students in the Shawano School District having a half day on Wednesday, parents decided to utilize the parks and splash pad.

“The kids were out early and we wanted them to enjoy the nice weather.”

Wednesday afternoon saw temperatures in the 70’s and kids were seen at the parks in large numbers.

“Last day of school and they love it,” one parent said.

One dad was visiting the parks after coming to Shawano from Green Bay.

“We were for an orthodontist appointment and with the nice weather, we went to the County Park by the lake, Sturgeon Park and now here at Memorial Park.”

One mom said Memorial Park has a lot to offer. “I like the splash pad and having two different parks within walking distance,” she said.

Shawano has multiple parks that are expected to get lots of use over the summer.
