SHAWANO, WI- A 34-year-old Almon man with prior criminal convictions barring gun ownership, is set to stand trial on more than 80 charges. Kyle Matsche is will be back in court. Police responded to Matsche’s Shawano County home on December 19 following a domestic disturbance, leading to his arrest. During a subsequent search, law enforcement uncovered a staggering arsenal, including 46 long guns, 23 handguns, 22 suppressors, body armor, ballistic helmets, and over 1,300 pounds of ammunition. The firearms lacked serial numbers, suggesting an attempt to avoid tracing. Matsche faces charges of felonious firearm possession, firearm silencers, drug possession, and disorderly conduct. With a history of THC possession and bail jumping convictions, Matsche’s arraignment is scheduled for April 23. The significant cache raises concerns about illegal firearms and highlights the need for stricter monitoring of individuals with prior criminal records.
