BONDUEL, WI- In a significant development for Bonduel, the village is set to have a full-time police chief for the first time in five years. Eric Krause, who has served as part-time chief, will step down on March 3, with Keith Fischer assuming the role in a full-time capacity from March 4. Fischer, an almost 20-year veteran of the Oconto Falls Police Department, expressed the difficulty of his decision to resign in a heartfelt letter. The move to appoint a full-time chief follows a decision by the village board last fall, deeming the previous part-time structure insufficient for meeting the community’s needs. Fischer aims to lead the Bonduel Police Department with dedication and community pride.
