MADISON, WI- Shawano High School teacher and coach Steve Stomberg was recognized at the State Capitol on Monday.

Stomberg was named a Hometown Hero by State Representative Peter Schmidt. In front of the State Assembly, Stomberg was recognized for teaching, advising and coaching many students and athletes through the years.

Schmidt, a cross country runner in High School, experienced a health emergency in 2007 during a meet, and credits Stomberg with acting to help save his life that day.
