Doris J. Priem, age 98 of Shawano, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, October 21, 2023, at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano.  Doris was born in Milwaukee on March 18, 1925, a  daughter of the late Ervin and Arline (Moede) Brusewitz. Following school, she went to work at a general merchandise store in Bonduel. On October 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Carl Priem in Zachow.  Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Washington. Mr. Priem preceded her in death on October 31, 1979.  Doris was a good and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church where she served with the Tabitha Society for many years. Doris loved to travel, cook, sew, bake, and decorate. For many years she worked at the Shawano Speedway as well as the bingo hall at the fair stand and the fan stand on Saturday nights at the races. Doris was a very nurturing person and took care of many elderly friends.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Joan) Priem; her grandchildren, Kimberly Bellingrath, Karl Priem, Kerri Priem, and Kristi Priem; her great grandchildren, Ty (Lindsay), Austin, Kylie, Alexander, Kaitlyn, Savannah, Mason, Payton, and Blake; great-great grandchildren, Wilder, Charlotte, and Casyn; her sister, Genevieve (Roger) Polzin; her nephew, Michael (Kathy) Polzin;
and her great-nephews, Braden, and Benjamin Polzin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and her sister, Jeannette Lambrecht.

A funeral service for Doris will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Andrew Zobel will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:30 am and continue until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the St. James radio fund.
