Delores C. Ziereis, age 85 of Embarrass, passed away Monday morning September 25, 2023 at The Pines in Embarrass.
Delores Caroline Rasmussen was born on June 23, 1938 as the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mildred (Rymer) Rasmussen. She grew up in Embarrass and was united in marriage to Lawrence Ziereis on August 19, 1961 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino. The couple resided in Embarrass where the raised their 5 children and foster children. Delores had a talent for sewing which led to her working for Noritage in Embarrass where she helped make furniture for a number of years. She definitely loved animals and at one time had over 40 cats. Delores also had a green thumb; enjoying many hours working in her flower beds. The couple loved to camp and spent many weekends with their family camping in Hiles, WI over the years. Delores was an excellent cook, liked to crochet, and in her later years at The Pines she enjoyed coloring and working on puzzles. Her children and grandchildren were at the center of her universe and she loved spending time with all of them.

Daughters: Debbie (Jeff) Schuelke, Penny Swinton, & Sherri (Bart) Kuhnke.
Sons: Wayne (Margie) Ziereis & Duane (Jenny Draeger) Ziereis.
Grandchildren: Destiny (Dan) Quaintance, Desiree (Joseph Phalen) Schuelke, Adalia Swinton, Kenny Ziereis, Brittany (Corey) Diem, Dustin (Jenny) Ziereis, Kevin Steinke, & Bria Rabe.
Great-Grandchildren: Eliza, Lilia, Brian, Elijah, Jordan, Kailey, Tyler, Mason, Minerva, Malachi, Zeke, Zoey, Conner, & Gavin.
Sisters: Nancy (Jim) Kamps & Karen (Bill) Bartz.
Also numerous other relatives.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence in 2005, parents, and a number of foster siblings.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11am at the SOUTH Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, 299 S. Main Street, Clintonville with Rev. Jason Zobel officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9am until the time of the service.
