SHAWANO, WI-During the past week, Correctional Officer Paul Stammers achieved the milestone of becoming a United States Citizen. Originally hailing from the UK, he joined the Shawano County Sheriff’s department earlier this year.

“The United States has bestowed upon me far more than I could have ever imagined,” Stammers said. “It has taught me the intrinsic value of Life, the preciousness of Liberty, and the roadmap to my own pursuit of Happiness, which, I’ve come to realize, is only restricted by the limits one places upon oneself. It’s an everlasting wellspring of inspiration, a realm where nothing can hinder your aspirations if you possess the unwavering determination to seize them.”

Stammers went on to say the truths carry significant responsibilities. “The liberties we are inherently granted should never be taken lightly. They form the very essence of this nation and serve as its unshakable foundation. Without Freedom, there is no Liberty; Life may find itself restricted, and happiness may wane. I consider myself fortunate to collaborate with those who safeguard this freedom daily, individuals who willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect the citizens of Shawano County and beyond, allowing them to pursue their dreams in peace and security.”
