Update: The driver of the vehicle and the vehicle have both been identified and located.

TOWN OF CHASE, WI- In the early hours of Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 4:44 AM, authorities were alerted to a hit and run accident involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle near the intersection of CTH C and South Chase Road in the Town of Chase.

The Oconto County Emergency Dispatch Center received the initial report from the Brown County Emergency Dispatch Center, which had received the distressing news of the accident. In response to the call, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and NEW Rescue teams rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a 39-year-old female from Green Bay who had suffered significant injuries in the collision. The victim, yet to be identified, was immediately provided with medical assistance and transported to receive further medical care. Her current condition remains a concern to local authorities.

The motor vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene without rendering aid or providing necessary information to authorities. As a result, law enforcement is treating this incident as a hit and run, a serious offense.
