SHAWANO, WI-The Shawano Invitational, hosted by Shawano Community High School, witnessed a spectacular display of talent and determination from high school cross country runners.
The Shawano Boys finished 4th overall as a team, but won the Division 2 battle. Green Bay Preble was the top overall boys team with Xavier finishing 2nd and Notre Dame 3rd. The Shawano Girls were also fourth overall behind Kaukauna, Notre Dame and Xavier. While the teams all ran together, the schools were broken up by divisions for standings and results.
On the boys side, Ethan Onesti of Shawano had the third best time in all three divisions combined. Ben Adam’s of Oconto Falls was 9th out of 16. Bradyn Wendorff of Gillett was 12 and Ben O’Brien of Bonduel was 13th.
On the girls side, Bailey Hendricks of Shawano was 6th in all three divisions combined. Macy Reybrock of New London was 10th and Hannah Huza of Hortonville was 12th.
BOYS
Onesti Leads Division 2 Field
Shawano Community’s boys’ cross country team was a force to be reckoned with at the meet, securing the top position.
- Ethan Onesti: Senior Ethan Onesti, with an incredible time of 16:10.7, clinched the first place and set the pace for his team’s remarkable performance.
